Prince of Persia - Sands of time review

This is a movie that have been waited a long time. Based on the videogame with the same name, Prince of Persia tells the history of a orphan boy who is taken to the palace by the king of Persia (Ronald Pickup) after the king witness a courageous act from the boy. The history develops when the Prince sees is whole world crash after the kings dead, and itself wanted for an object that could change the path of present, past and future history.

In general lines, the movie has some of the videogame concept. Visualy is a great movie, especially because you can see in a lot of the action scenes the influence of the game. It’s like sometimes you are playing with the prince character and you are deciding the best way to continue the action.

The plot itself is not totally unexpected, especially if you already play the game, neverless it’s good to see the rebel princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) who sees itself trap to the path with this prince, trying to fool him over and over again, and a Ben Kingsley villan (which in my opinion is by far the type of characters I like seem him doing), in the role of Nizam, who give Jake Gyllenhaal character a hard time. Although we could see a litle more of development in this character, this isn't exactly that kind of movie we expect to see lot of character devolopment. Jake Gyllenhaal keeps to his part, and we see a strongheart and sometimes funny character.

The battle scenes are definitely high screen required. The romantic plot in this is the most obviously possible, although we have a hard time get to it we know exactly how is going to be. The comic momments appear in perfect time.

I don't know if more movies from Prince of Persia series are going to be made, I really expect that, like Pirates of the Caribbean (also produce by Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney studios), we are able to see more adventures of Dastan.

So, if you know what you’re in the movies for, this is definitely a Full Price movie. In general I give it a high matine, neverless it is a widescreen movie.

So go check it
